Who should be the new head coach for Myers Park?

Vincent Gau is a special player. I enjoyed watching him play. The players that were moved up were impact players.

justadad, I think ASU is correct. I saw the MP JV team play 5 different times last season. They were loaded with juniors. I know almost every kid on the team because most of them have played with my son for years. I don't have a problem with the juniors playing JV but I did find it strange that the coach acted like he did. He may say that he was using the games as a teaching moment but in reality he showed very little class. I was approached by one of the kids you listed at a game last year and I said, "Hey, what have you been up to?" His response was, "Just going school to school 10 run ruling everybody." To which I said, "I would hope so, you are all 17 years old."

It is not the kids' fault but they should keep things in perspective.
The 4 kids you listed would have started on Varsity for 2 or 3 SW4A teams and almost every team outside the conference. So to bow your chest out when you are beating a bunch of 14 and 15 year old kids is silly.

 

Justadad is exactly right - there were 4 juniors on the JV team and they were NOT 17 year olds playing against 14 & 15 year olds. Do the math. If you want to comment on the way the coach handled that game - fine...but leave the kids out of this. Why don't we let this topic go too...we are beating a dead horse.

 

I see Coach Matt Burnett is now teaching social studies at Myers Park.
