CISAA Conference:

Patrick Langdon SR, Charlotte Country Day 3B/1B....hits for average and lots of extra base hits, doesn't try to jerk it out, prefers line drives. Good 2-strike hitter. Very capable fielder, all-out effort defensively

Tyler Holloway SR, Charlotte Country Day P/1B...Good clutch hitter, gets big RBI hits and is very solid at 1B. Lefty pitcher with tenacity and good stuff.

Colin Walls SR, Charlotte Country Day 1B/DH...8-9 HRs as a junior, tremendous bat head speed, loves to hit it hard

Brian Duncan SR, Charlotte Country Day C...tough as they come behind the plate, 6'5" 235 lbs, clutch hitter and much improved defensively. Huge contributor to Country Day's state finalist run, including walk-off hit in extra innings in semifinals

Patrick Brady JR, Charlotte Country Day OF...speedy, tough as nails, great leadoff hitter with high on-base %, good contact hitter, fearless in the field and on the bases, coaches dream player.

Others that I know less about:

Mike Massardo SR OF, Charlotte Latin....hard-hitting and speedy, has significant power from a compact build. UNC commit

Andrew Pope SR SS, Providence Day....smooth player, heady and confident. Has sneaky power and loves to compete. Very much a clutch hitter.

Justin Redfern, SR INF, Cannon School...all around athlete, good power, smooth in the field, gets hits in bunches

Matt Simmons JR 3B, Charlotte Christian...physical player with advanced skills, expect him to be very productive this year offensively, fearless defender at 3B

Kendall Hughes JR P/1B Providence Day...large frame, good presence on the mound, may step up this year

While my list is heavy with Country Day players, that is because I have seen them the most. That said, I wouldn't put any of those five in the backseat to anyone...they can play and each came up big last year in Country Day's very successful season. I'm sure there are other top-notch players at the other schools....not meaning to slight anyone, just one person's observations.

 

I don't know enough about the CPC to list 10, I could maybe get 5. Would love to see someone's list.

These are in no particular order. I'm sure I missed several others.

 

Good job...great start! For selfish reasons it gives me a heads up about who to keep up with and follow. But it also serves a great role in allowing college coaches to see if anyone is posted that they didn't know about......keep it coming!

Keaton Oaks--Apex--strong pitcher
Matt Tenuta--Apex--strong pitcher
Patrick Graham--Athens--pitcher, hitter. Did well for Athens at the plate last year.
Tony Sanchez--Cary--very strong hitter
Zak Orrison--Fuquay--great glove at short stop, quick on bases
Garrett Suggs--Fuquay--very athletic, covers major ground in the OF, quick on bases
Addison Braswell--Fuquay--strong bat
Joey Roach--Holly Springs--brick wall behind the plate
Mike Roach--Holly Springs--strong hitter
Alex Furl--Lee County--good glove MIF, lefty at the plate
Jimmy Boyd--Middle Creek--all state. Powerhouse at the plate and strong pitcher
Graham Edwards--Middle Creek--pitcher, can mix it up on the mound.

I have not named from Panther Creek or Green Hope as I do not know many of the players from those 2 schools, but I am sure there are players who belong on the list as well.

 

Looks like a good list to me. I only know of the guys from Davie and North Davidson so that's why I refrained from posting a top 10. I would think Davie and North Davidson should be the top 2 this year with West right behind them.

 

Here is my prediction for the 4A CPC:

1. Davie (strong returning pitching with Foster and Randall, picked up a very strong bat with Vernon)
2. West Forsyth (strong hitting top to bottom, will need to develop some pitching other than Walsh)
3. North Davidson (Good pitching with Tate and Pope, hitting will again be the problem at ND. Not many teams will pitch to Lassiter since he will be the only proven bat in the lineup)
4. Reynolds (very young but should be better than the rest)
5. Reagan (continues to lose good players to other programs, not enough pitching to contend)
6. Mt.Tabor (rebuilding time for the Spartans, lost the entire starting lineup except for Penn. Pitching will be a problem except for St. Claire)

 

2A SPC
lincolnton- Jacob Hoover solid MIF

North Lincoln- Jake Cochrane Strong P getting lots of looks
Andrew Stidham solid MIF
West Lincoln- Camron High One of top P in conf. this year

East Lincoln- Clay Hodges CF soild all around player
Jake Helms Really smooth great hands very solid MIF
Charlie Goss Very solid behind plate best defensive C in
conf.

No info yet on other teams players,update to follow.

 

Here are mine for the SPC conference (Cabarrus County). I have decided to retire this season for health & family reasons, but I have still excluded Central Cabarrus players since I am a bit biased.
There are a lot of great players and coaches in this conference and I don't mean to exclude anyone....just the 10 that came to mind 1st.

Corey Seager, NW Cabarrus-Everyone knows about this kid. Incredible player in every aspect of the game. Gamecocks signee....you'll see him on Sportscenter someday. Class kid as well.

Tanner Bigham, NW Cabarrus-UNC signee and only a junior, but a fantastic hitter and a kid that can really play on defense.

Weston Smith, NW Cabarrus-Not as well known as his teammates, but he should be a D1 guy. Upper 80's at least and a good athlete.

Jake Kimble, Mt. Pleasant-Sat in the shadows of his more recognized teammates (Brandon Burris, Grayson Atwood, A.J. James) the past few years, but he is an excellent infielder with big time talent.

Travis Watkins, Cox Mill-One of the area's best catchers and a kid that can rake as well. Plays with heart and is a great leader. Love watching this kid play. NC State signee.

Austin Fox, Cox Mill-Hit over .500 last year as a freshman! Good on the hill, even better at the plate. Future is bright.

Brody Koerner, Robinson-Best pitcher in the area without question. Signed with Clemson but I expect he'll get drafted in June. Filthy hammer, low 90's/upper 80's I'm guessing on the gun --- just knows how to pitch.

Phillip Perry, Robinson-Gives the Bulldogs a great 1-2 punch. Junior this year but very smart and pitches with confidence to all parts of the plate.

Blake Sides, Hickory Ridge-Emerged last season. Good pop in his bat and a kid that takes charge on the hill.

Jake Barbee, Hickory Ridge-Hit the heck out of the ball all year as a sophomre last season. Strong kid with big upside.
