    2013 COLBY BARNETTE - Piedmont High School / South Charlotte Panthers has committed to attend college and play baseball at the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA. Colby will join the Tar Heels following his high school career.
    Congratulations to Colby and his parents Steve and Kim.

    Congrats!!!

    To be able to attend the school and play ball where you've always wanted is really something special. Colby has worked hard from when we first met to what he has become today. Congrats and good luck. Looking forward to playing Piedmont HS again this Spring.

    I saw this comming a long time ago from days at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Matthews Slammers. Colby was all a coach could ask for, play anywhere, do anything, help anybody. He is an awesome young man and has a great family. Congrats my boy, you deserve this opportunity. I can see poppa Steve grinning from here.....

    Dedicated Player. Dedicated Dad too! I remember his Dad hauling a little tractor in his pickup so we could drag the infield at the school we practiced at! That's dedication to your family!

    Awesone!! Very little change in color of uniforms now. I can't wait to watch him take the field as a Tarheel. There are going to be Union County players all over the college baseball scene in the next couple years.
