UNC: Omaha Camp Series- Charlotte Country Day School

Hey guys-

Here are the updates on this weekend's Omaha Camp Series at Charlotte Country Day School.

A) All coaches are welcome to atternd- there have been some inquiries regarding HS and coaches of other levels attending. At no charge- coaches may observe throughout the course of the day.

B) Each camper participating in the camp will receive a Omaha Camp Series- player packet. Throughout the day- player's will use this packet as a log to note valauble skills, drills or tips that are taught. This is intended to be used as a tool for the player to use once the camp is over.

Sneak Preview of the Itinerary for Sunday:

- 60 yard dash
- Primary Position break-down
- Pro- Style workout and Evaluation
- UNC Fundamentals Drills
- UNC- Strength and Conditioning Seminar- with Assistant Strength Coach- Erik Hernandez
- Hitting Seminar
- Pitcher's Bullpens/Evaluation- afterwards- each pitcher taken thru a UNC post-bullpen cooldown routine
- Baserunning 101- breakdown of the fundamentals of each base
- UNC Blue-White Drill--a) live BP b) baserunning reads +react c) live defense d) cage work
- Recruiting Seminar
a) Radford University b) UNCW c) College of Charleston d) life of a professional baseball player- Mike Shildt and e) UNC recruiting- with Scott Jackson and Scott Forbes

--There are currently about 35 players attending. There are still a few spots available. Should be a great day of baseball back home in Charlotte!

On behalf of the entire Omaha Camp Series staff, thank you so much for all of the players and families who attended the event yesterday. We would not have asked for better weather and a better group of players. Also- Coach Hennessey and Coach Smith have a first class program in place at Charlotte Country Day School. The facilities were immaculate.

It was great to be back in Charlotte for the weekend- we are already looking at dates to come back for another event. (possibly the first weekend of August 2012).

Thanks Woody... I was hoping everything went well. I would have attended, but I didn't receive an invitation...plus that guy out in San Jose "told" me I wasn't welcomed , so I stayed away.

Seriously, this was a great idea and I hope you will come back.
