    Ronnie Bost
He is a Central grad, LHP that was drafted out of high school (Blue Jays) in about the 10th or 11th round, maybe 1996 or 1997? . If I remember right he threw about mid 90's. He was in minors 4 yrs or so, hurt arm. Was pitching coach at Pfeiffer College for several years and most recent was head coach at Hickory Grove High School.

Guess I'm as good a guy as any to answer this one.

I retired this year as head coach at Central Cabarrus due to some health and family issues, among other things. It was a tough call, but one that I made for the sake of my family and to ensure that I would never coach at anything less than 100% of my heart, mind, body and soul.

I have been a head coach for 13 years and those that know me or have watched me coach know that I do so with passion and intensity while trying to be the most positive role model I know how. I have been blessed to work at Central and have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful fans, parents and coaches in this area, both during the season and during the Battle of the Border games.

The new coach is Ronnie Bost. Ronnie has been the head coach at Hickory Grove for the past few years and also coached the Post 51 American Legion team for a while. He is a Central grad and an outstanding young man - I have wholeheartedly endorsed him and I'm thrilled that he is taking over the program at this time.

Central is ready to explode. A lot of talent in our program right now for the 1st time in a while. Central returns their top 3 pitchers from last year (started a frosh & sophomore every week in 2011) and have added one from Hickory Grove (Kevin Cliff) that people will know about very soon. We had an excellent JV team last year as well, so the future is bright. Really proud of those kids and I'm happy that they found a good man to lead them moving forward.

Good luck to all of you as the 2012 season approaches. Coach Knight

    Coach,

I think the young man that you are referring to that transferred from Hickory Grove is Kyle Cliff, I think Kevin may be his dad. I think he has a brother that is now pitching at Limestone and expected to make varisty as a freshman there this year. (cant remember his name)
