What's yall's opinion on the baseball program at Wingate University? I know Coach Gregory is doing a great job with bringing in quality talent from this area. Share some ideas here.

It started with Coach Osborne. He came in and changed the "environment." They out-recruited many schools to get players many thought would go D1. Why? Because college baseball has changed dramatically. Probably due to the new scholarship rules in baseball @ the D1 level, players are finding the D2 schools to be much better than expected.

When Oz got promoted the program stayed in-house in hiring Jeff Gregory: A marvelous decision. The problem with success is your coaches get promoted and it happened again with Coach Ben Hall. He was very instrumental in attracting talented kids to Wingate and now he has taken his talents to Winthrop.

But Coach Gregory has hired another good coach and will hit the ground running. The program is set for success because good players attract good players and Wingate's cupboards are full of talented players

    Wingate World Series

Wingate held their "World Series" last week and I got to see a couple of games. Wingate is returning a lot of offensive punch this season but the improvement that caught my eye was the defensive effort. Pitching was excellent also. Looks like it will be a fun year for the Bulldogs.:five:

If their pitching stays healthy, this may be their best team EVER! The hitting will be a machine. I've never seen Coach Gregory this excited.

If I know that you're going, I will be there. Just tell me when.

By the way, is it WF South or Wingate North? You better be there considering you field half the team.

    17 Days and counting

The first game for Wingate is February 4th. Congrats to Dodson McPherson and Brian Yeung for earning Preseason All American honors. Casey Allison was named as a Player to Watch and Jordan Newsome was selected as a Newcomer to Watch.

    Go Bulldogs
