    Great start to freshman season.

Jacob Hoyle has had a great start for a freshman at WCU. Yesterday in WCU's 13-3 win against Winthrop Jacob went 2 for 4 with a HR and a double, plating 3 RBIs with a SB.
After his first 4 games in the SoCon he is ranked 1st in RBIs (9) and doubles (4), tied for 1st with 19 total bases, tied for 3rd in HR (2) and hits (9), slug% 3rd (1.188), 5th in OB% (.632) and 6th in BA (.563).

This is more than a very proud Dad could hope for.

Wow, fantastic start! I've sent your scouting report to certain individuals at App State for future reference. Please ask Mr. Hoyle to go easy on our pitching staff and once our series is over, he may return to being on FIRE!!!

Good Luck the rest of the year.

You can thank "Down East" BBQ for those blasts. It tends to add pounds, (oops, I mean homers,) to a guys resume.:cheers2:

    Gabe Brown

Gabe is quietly becoming a very reliable reliever for NCCU this season. He had another quality outing against Duke on Wednesday (2 IP 0 Runs 1K).

Very impressed with him so far.

He's not my son, but my brother....dad doesn't post on here...yet! Ryan Dull is off to a 2-0 start after defeating NC Central and today throwing a complete game 3 hit shut out against St. Peters. I'm hoping he continues to have a great year with a big reward at the end of the season!

    Appalachian State beats #7 LSU

App State wins today 1-0 over #7 LSU. Ryan Arrowood pitched an absolute masterpiece to hold LSU to 2 hits over 7 innings. Nate Hyatt pitches a 2 inning save and Daniel Kassouf provides all the offense we needed with a solo HR. The entire App state team played well and battled all day. For LSU, a local guy, Tyler Hanover had 2 of their 3 hits.

Had a chance to watch my son play for the first time this season. Being that he is a fifth year senior and with my high school schedule, there are very few days left.

Goes 3-5 with 2BB, SB, Sac, 3R, 3 RBI, 3 run HR plus his fourth outfield assist of the season in a DH sweep.

Pretty cool day (in more ways than one)!
