    West Forsyth - West Stokes

Ian Walsh looked really good with Eric Sonafrank finishing the last 2 innings. Gavin Culler created havoc all night long on the bases and Tripp Shelton went opposite field homerun. This goes back to earlier point about CPC predictions that West Forstyh needed a couple of players to step up. If Shelton & Culler can continue and West can find 1 more to come aboard in addition to the known players in Walsh, Felton, Uhlig, etc could be a possible really good year for Titans

    Pitching wow!

Holy cow, what an unbelievably well pitched game. From the sw4a news blog.

Pitchers Shine as Weddington Beats Ardrey Kell in Nine
Sean Collins one out base hit in the top of the ninth scored Jeremy Shellhorn for the game’s only run as Weddington was able to outlast Ardrey Kell 1-0.
Pitching was the dominate player in the contest. Starters Trent Thornton (12 strikeouts, 0 hits) and Shellhorn (9 strikeouts, 4 hits) pitched the first five innings. David Pope tossed three innings of hitless relief for the win before Alex Bostic closed out the contest by striking out the side in the ninth for his first save.

    Doesn't tell the entire story.

Thornton (UNC) was masterful executing on those 12 K's. He made hitters look bad over 5 innings.

However, Schellhorn (UNCC) matched him through 5 innings striking out 9 and holding AK to no runs.

David Pope came in relief and pitched 3 no hit innings with 3 k's on just 32 total pitches to 8 hitters

Ak's Logan Beehler threw effectively for 1 and 1/3

Justin French (Army) gave up just 2 hits over 2 2/3 with 3 k's.

Alex Bostic closed out the bottom of the 9th striking out the side.

Unbelievable game to watch as all of the pitchers dominated the hitters. total of 7 hits in the game. a couple were just well timed.

WOW! I'm kicking myself for not making this game, what a pitcher's duel. And I bet DC was grinnin' ear to ear when Sean got the RBI base hit. NICE!

    Twitter and Baseball

yea, I know--who the hell knows what that is and who cares. But, want to know what is going on during the season real time?

Get yourself a Twitter account. Tweet real time from the games and follow the hash tag below.

I thought up a Hash Tag (twitter lingo for an entry you can follow #Letters/saying) for Charlotte area HS baseball.

As you tweet follow it with #cltHSbaseball

you can follow the tag to get updates on games around town. great way to keep up with all the games around town from your smartphone.

example from last nights AK Weddington game:

end of 2 AK 0 Weddington 0 Schellhorn is dealing too! #clthsbaseball
