    Catholic/West Meck

    Catholic won 5-0 as Jordan Accetta fanned 11 West Meck batters to earn his second varsity win. Chris Clare had 2 triples, Jeff Ciesielski and Eddie Hull each had key doubles, and Chase Arnold came up with a clutch 2 out, 2 RBI single to help key the Cougars as they moved to 3-2 on the season. A scary moment late in the game as West Meck RF, AJ Williams collapsed and lay motionless for several minutes. Emergency personnel provided quick assistance and eventually carted the young man off on a stretcher. All indications are that he will be OK. Williams reportedly has a serious heart condition so our thoughts and prayers should go out to AJ and his family.

    Wcnc had some nice coverage this morning for the south meck ardrey Kell game. Featured Trent Thorton(unc) showing the game ending strike out and the fist pump.

    Coverage for SM-AK also featured Andrew Mauldin from South Meck with 16 k's and giving up 1 hit. Great high school game!

    East Meck vs Indy

    The Eagles hit their way to a 7-1 conference opening victory at Independence.
    It started early with 3 doubles, resulting in 2 runs, in the first inning. A couple innings latter, a lead off double was followed by a 2 run HR.
    Eagle pitcher, Logan Sherer, was spectacular in his first appearance on the mound recording 9k's while allowing 4 hits and 0 ER.

    Indy. 000 001 0 - 1 4 2

    WP- L. Sherer. LP- T. Miller. Leading hitters EM- D. Marvin (3-3, 2b, HR, 3 RBI); L. Sherer (2-3 2b). I- PJ Sardinia (2-3)

    The Eagles host MP Tuesday.

    Weddington tops CC 5-2 Thursday night. Big story of the game is Alexader Bostic. Bostic recorded 15 K's.
