    Davie County beats Watagua in a thriller 6-5. Ryan Foster goes the distance. Matt Vernon hit a big 3 run homerun. Davie was down 5-0. Karch Arey with the go ahd single in the 6th. Good game from both teams.

    That was a big homerun. It's hard to buy into all this bbcor stuff when you see a high schooler hit it like that! Davie tried to give that game away but pulled it out to remain undefeated.

    That's true, is there a reason he's not ranked higher by some of the scouting services? Seems like a big shortstop that can hit like that would project pretty well for the draft.

    Matt Vernon is a Junior. He projects as a corner and not a SS but you'll have to wait until June of 2013.
