Congrats to MR and Coach Mennitt. Good folks.

Uh, I need to hit the ”submit” button now before I say something I'll regret.

    Weddington 7 Providence 6

Some pondered on another thread....Can anyone compete with Providence? Apparently the answer is YES! Weddington has played them twice....1 preseason and last night. Providence is clearly a very good team. But they are beatable. There are a number of very good teams around these parts.

Great night on the mound for Shellhorn and Bostic combining for 9 K's. Andrew Knight was the big story here opening up a big lead with a GRAND SLAM (midway up the hitters eye in Center) in the 2nd. Playing without the projected starters at RF, SS, and 3rd due to injury, the team rallied together to secure the win. :cucumber:

    PR beats Piedmont

Porter Ridge beat Piedmont 12 -5, behind a complete game from Sergio Patsy. PR got a little sloppy defensively in the 2nd giving up 5 unearned runs. But they rebounded nicely to put the game away in the 5th. Trey Dill homered for PR and Colby Barnette had 3 hits for Piedmont.

    SM/MR pitchers

South Meck pitched Mauldin (complete game 2 hitter I believe) and Marvin Ridge had Chadwick on the mound (complete game 1 hitter).

Wow, Mauldin is pitching great with nothing to show for it. Tough break. I'm sure his offense will support him soon. Been there, done that.

    I'll say. Tweet from @sw4abaseball:

    Andrew Mauldin's stat line last two games: 13.3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 26Ks
    0-2

Davie beat RJR 9-0 to improve to 7-0. Corey Randall pitched a complete game and Randall, Vernon, and Boswell all had multi-hit games. Looks like it will be showdown next Friday between Davie and West Forsyth.
