    A bit of home cooking here???

    ..:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
    What guidelines do you use to credit a pitcher with a save?
    Very unusual for a pitcher to get credited with a save when the final score has an 11 run spread. Help me understand.
    Could it be this is one reason so many people say stats are suspect?

    Need more data before casting stones about home cooking.

    Save is credited as below

    1. He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
    2. He is not the winning pitcher;
    3. He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched; and
    4. He satisfies ONE of the following conditions:
      1. He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning
      2. He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck
      3. He pitches for at least three innings
    Now I don't now the answer to whether Tekker threw 3 innings, but if he did it is possible to have a save with that score IF Hendel pitched 4 and Tekker pitched 3 and went all 7.

    Again, all assumptions, but it is possible

    AK 5 MP 1

    Thornton takes almost 18 hours, but gets the win versus MP.

    Brandon Donahue goes yard and Foster Machicote has a key two-run double.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day --- pardon us if we don't wear GREEN today!

    Got the Gamechanger APP for my phone....pretty neat, but a distraction for me during the game!! Anyway, here is the "manufactured" write up from the software based on the scorekeeping entered (which is not official!!!)

    AK Knights take out Myers Park with help from Donahue, 5-1

    AK Knights downed Myers Park 5-1 in seven innings on Saturday at Myers Park as Brandon Donahue hit a home run and drove in one runner.

    Trent Thornton was a workhorse on the mound for AK Knights. Thornton pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out two.

    Myers Park was ahead early but it ultimately surrendered the lead for good. Myers Park led until the fourth inning, but AK Knights took the lead back on a two-run double by Foster Machicote.

    Hobson went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Myers Park. Hobson doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

    AK Knights closer Justin French put away the final out to record the save.
    French threw one-third of an inning of scoreless ball for AK Knights.
    In the second inning, Myers Park pushed across its only run of the day.
    The game's last lead went to AK Knights thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a two-run double by Machicote.
    AK Knights tacked on another two runs in the sixth. Donahue's home run got things going. That was followed up by Zach Hummell's single, bringing home Zach Merritt.

    MP # 33

    Myers Park's #33 that hit so well in the AK game is Ross Groome. Ross has hit well in all the MP games.

    Baseball X 3 - I appreciate the definition and stand corrected. Cameron Tekker only threw 2.1 innings so I guess he would not get the save based on the other criteria. Thanks for the help instead of the pointed jab. I appreciate it and stand corrected.
