    Catholic/East Gaston

    Charlotte Catholic - 7
    East Gaston - 2

Chris Clare continued to stroke the ball well -- going 2 for 2 while squaring the bat up 2 other times to deep areas of the ball park -- and Jacob Bonen-Clark improved to 3-1 with a solid 3 hitter. The Cougars host Olympic tonight in a MEGA 7 first place showdown.

    Sabres Hold Off Mustang Rally

South Meck received six shutout innings of pitching from Earl Oliver and then survived a bases load jam in the seventh to win 3-1 over Myers Park Monday night at Jack Sink Field.

Andrew Mauldin came in to slam the door with a three pitch strike out to earn his second save after the Mustangs had pushed in a run and had the bases loaded in the seventh off Tyler Aiello.

The Sabres scored a run in the first on a double from Adam Nix and a single by Logan Koch for a 1-0 lead. An inning later they double the margin after a leadoff double by Oliver and RBI single from Nix. Brooks Kennedy accounted for the last South run reaching third on a three base error leading off the fifth and then stealing home for a 3-0 Sabre lead.

Ryan Ahlum and Marcus Chan each had a pair of hits for the Mustangs.

Oliver picked up his fifth win of the season to tie for the SW4A lead.

South improves to 8-3, 3-2 in the SW4A and host Butler today. Myers Park dropped their fourth consecutive SW4A contest after starting the loop schedule with a win versus the Bulldogs. The Mustangs are 4-6 and travel to Independence tonight.

Agreed! SW4A site is great and very up-to-date on news. Is there a webmaster to contact if there is an error?
