East Meck Tourney - Butler 7 Hough 4

Slumping Butler finally got their act together and beat a very good Hough team 7-4 this afternoon at EM. Dalton Eisenbath pitched a CG to get his second win of the season. He also went 2-3 BB 2B at the plate. Aj Larson collected 2 hits as well. Butler's defense turned 2 nice double plays to end some threat and made use of some wild Hough pitching early. Butler plays North Meck tomorrow at 11am. There was a very nice group of 10 or so college scouts at this game. ( UNCC, Abby, WCU, LR, High Point, Mars Hill to name a few)

Charlotte Christian 4 South Meck 3

Walkoff single in the bottom of the seventh.

Christian overcame some early miscues and a homerun by Tyler Braxton.

Ober had two solid doubles and I think he had the bloop single that won it.

    SM 3 runs, 4 hits, 2 errors
    CC 4 runs, 10 hits, 4 errors

    WP Zakar
    LP Wynn

I saw High Point, UNCC, NCState, Lenoir Rhyne and some other schools at this game.

    Catholic/East Meck

East Meck rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the 5th inning to defeat Catholic 9-4. The Eagles had some huge hits but were also the recipient of 3 huge Cougar errors -- leading to 8 unearned East Meck runs. Tennant Gardner, Justin Strong, and Rashad Webster each had 2 hits for East while Eddie Hull had 2 hits for Catholic. Logan Sherer got the hard earned win while Jacob Bonen-Clark - who pitched beautifully - ended with the tough-luck loss.

Davie blew a 5-0 leading and lost to Lake Norman. Ryan Foster was cruising until things fell apart as e gave up 8 runs in one inning. Matt Vernon had another homer and I believe it was his 6th or 7th on the year.
