Charlotte Country Day 4 Covenant Day 1

Sophomore Drew Loepprich scattered 5 hits, giving up 1 run with 8K and 2BB over 6 innings improving his record to 5-1. Catcher Brian Duncan had a solo HR and freshman 2B Jordan Greene drove in 2 with a double to left. James Dillon took the loss for Covenant Day. CCDS is now 7-4.
Coach Houseton at Covenant Day has a great new facility and a young team playing good baseball.

    Broken BBCOR Bats too....

If I'm not mistaken, I read where Jackson Campana is leading the SW4A Conference and State in broken BBCOR bats as well. I think he has busted up 4 bats....1 per HR...That's big time!!

Funny and true, but not so funny when it happens in bp on game day. Have a direct line to Easton...

    Be careful!

You folks need to be careful posting anything on here about Providence. Higgy might call some of his old CIA connections and shut you up.

    Butler 5 Olympic 2

Matt Rumble picks up his first win with a complete game 4 hitter (1 ER). Matt spun that sweet breaking ball all evening and had OLY off balance. Malachi Hanes had a big 2 run homer in the first after Tyler Byrnes balked home the first run. Byrnes pitched the whole game for Olympic and took the loss. Butler continues to hit up and down the lineup. The Bulldogs were without AJ Larson (funeral - 2 games) and Chase Gehringer (illness) yet extended their win streak to 5 games. Butler hosts an improved Rocky River team on Friday.

Fort Mill 9...Charlotte Country Day 8

    Fort Mill........110 031 21....9...8...3
    Country Day..000 161 00....8...12..1

    WP: Josh Araj
    LP: Patrick Langdon

    Leading hitters FM:

    Brett Netzer 3-4, RBI
    Jaden Savage 1-3, 2B, 3 RBI
    Justin Tepper 1-1, GWRBI

    Leading hitters CCDS:

    Patrick Brady 3-3
    Patrick Langdon 2-3
    Colin Walls 2-5, 2 RBI
    Ben Kepley 2-3, RBI

Fans were treated to a very entertaining game at Ed Walton Field despite the very chilly conditions. Fort Mill advanced to a 5-1 lead and appeared to be cruising when Country Day erupted for a 6-run rally in the bottom of the 5th inning. Junior SS Patrick Brady ignited the attack for Country Day from the leadoff position going 3-3 with 2 walks. Fort Mill was trailing 8-6 going into their last at bat, but mustered 2 runs to push the game into extra frames and added another run in the 8th inning to take a 9-8 lead into the bottom of the inning. Patrick Langdon drew a leadoff walk and stole second base and with Country Day down to their last strike, Brian Duncan pushed a single through the left side and Langdon rounded third to attempt to score the tying run. A fantastic throw from the left fielder Jaden Savage gunned down the runner at the plate and the game ended on a bang bang play.
