West Brunswick Beach Diamond Invitational

    The West Brunswick Beach Diamond Invitational will kick of Monday and run through Wednesday

    Day 1
    10 am--Durham Riverside vs. North Brunswick
    1pm--Scotland County vs. South Brunswick
    4pm--South Stanly vs. West Brunswick JV
    7pm--Harrell's Christian Academy vs. West Brunswick

    Day 2 and 3 times will be adjusted on here as the games unfold! Looking forward to some good weather and great baseball!!

    Day 1 Results
    Game 1- North Brunswick 9 Durham Riverside 1
    WP: David Zacek
    North capitalized on some walks and errors to defeat Riverside

    Game 2- South Brunswick 7 Scotland County 6
    Scotland County scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to take the lead 6-5 and set up the bottom of the 7th. South Brunswick got a 2 walks and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Willie McCray then delivered a 2 RBI single to win the ball game! Greg Burton-White hit a 2 run homer in the 4th to take the lead for South Brunswick

    Game 3- South Stanly 2 West Brunswick JV 1
    WP: J. Starnes
    SV: R. Weiker
    South Stanly scored all of their runs in the 3rd inning only 1 was earned. West Brunswick had a runner on 3rd with 1 out in the top of the 1st and failed to score and had the bases loaded in the 4th and 5th and only scored one run and that was on a passed ball. The pitcher for West Brunswick gave South Stanly trouble as he (Zach Fish) threw a complete game giving up 7 hits, 1 earned run, and striking out 1 and zero walks.

    Game 4- West Brunswick 7 Harrell's Christian Academy 3
    WP: Chandler Taylor
    SV: Cooper Hewett
    It was the Jesse Simmons show as he lead off the game with a solo homerun. Simmons finished the night 3 for 4 with a double to go with his homerun.

    Tuesday's Schedule:
    10 am--West Brunswick JV vs. Durham Riverside
    1pm--Scotland County vs. Harrell's Christian Academy
    4pm--South Stanly vs. North Brunswick
    7pm--South Brunswick vs. West Brunswick

    Sorry got in late on day 2 and had to be up early for day 3....then took a little mini vacation....Those are the correct scores!
