Had a kid at Sanderson last week have a 10 game hitting streak broken because the base runner at first did not pick up the ball off of the bat and went back to the bag. The ball fell in right for a hit, but the runner at first did not move and was thrown out at second. Now instead of a hit it is a fielders choice. Should be a rule that gives an error to the runner and punishes him instead of the batter. Any thoughts?

It's a tough deal, but when you think of all the other crazy things that happen when a ball is batted tends to even things out over the course of a season.

Unfortunately, it is a fielder's choice.
