can anyone tell me where I can find a list of the softball playes that made all conference? And are players picked for talent/stats or popularity/opion poll? How many nominations do each team get? I saw that last year one team in the 4A Southwestern Conference had 5 players and another team only had 1 named all conference? I don't understand the process or the numbers!

Not sure if every conference follows the same policy but the higher you finish in the conference the more nominees you can have for all conference.

In the SPC, the 1st and 2nd Place teams each got 4 players on SPC All Conference (3rd and 4th got 3 each and 5th thru 8th got 2 each). Coaches nominated players and then there was a vote. Your coach could not vote on his players, etc. There were so many deserving players in the SPC this year as it is a very tough conference, not everyone will be happy but the process is what it is. Usually it will come out in the paper in the next few weeks, not sure if it is listed anywhere else,

Concords pitcher had over 500 High school Career strikeouts and close to 200 strikeouts this year, none of the other pitchers did, still have a very low ERA, well deserving of Pitcher of the Year!

I will never understand the need to take away from someone who was given recognition. Yes, in SOME cases, all-conference is based on "popularity". Yes, in SOME cases, stats are not close to accurate. But there is the reality. So you base the award on stats that have been inflated, the "right" people rarely get the nod. You base it on popularity, the "right" people rarely get the nod. The system is flawed... the end.

Congratulations to each of the young ladies recognized and a big thumbs up to Ms. Durant with 500 career strike outs. You should be VERY proud.
