UNCG Coach Mike Gaski Fired

Any hints as to who uncg has hired?

 

No one yet but rumors sure.

 

While I understand what you are saying, if I am a 17 year old player I am not going to be too quick to commit to a school if the coach has announced he is seeking another position. If that coach does not get the position, kids will still wonder how long that coach will be there and it will change how they look at the school and the coach - negatively impacting recruiting. Not at all surprising that searches are done quietly.

 

Link Jarrett is not out of it at UNCG.

 

Anybody have any news on the search for a coach. Would think Link Jarrett is about ready to be a head coach!

 

They are keeping kind of a tight lid on this one. There have been a few names mentioned and had one was Jarrett being maybe the front runner but not sure what is taking so long.

 

There is no word coming out of UNCG. I mean they have absolutely interviewed no one. Some mighty fine coaches waiting to hear back.

Without mentioning names, one of the people that sits on the search committee says he's in the dark. The only thing I can imagine is they are still trying to work on a strong financial package to be able to find the right coach.

 

Wow, that's a long time to wait before interviewing. Fall baseball is around the corner. Whoever does get this job will inherit a pretty good team that can surprise next year.

 

There had been rumors that they know who they want just trying to make it work.

Anyone have any names beside the one most people hear, Jarrett?

 

Matt McKay from Brevard College (DII) is the name I am hearing lately...along with Jarrett. I hear they have gotten a lot of "thanks, but no thanks" responses...all about $

Jarrett's name is popping up at a few other schools, too.

Whoever gets this job needs to have an extra year or two added to their contract because the way this search has dragged on, they have put themselves at least a year behind in recruiting (probably 2).
