Jr american legion tourney

    I am curious if anyone know who is playing who. I also want to know who is in final 16??? There will be 8 teams playing for State Tournament correct? By the way where it will be at and when it will start?

    Yes bunch of questions about Jr legion but they are just as fun as Sr legion games but a bit shorter. I saw solid game tonite at Kernersville. Post 36 Jr team beat Thomasville-Davidson team 4-3 and they lead the series 2-0. I believe Mooresville Jr 66 team is playing Rowan County.

    The two winners from both series you just mentioned will play for the Area III championship. Both series winners will also qualify for the Jr State tournament that starts on July 20th in Swansboro. I have no information on the other Area's if someone could fill in the status of those.

    South Caldwell A team has qualified for the state tournment with a record of 25-1. South Caldwell B team has a chance to make it with a win tomorrow over Gastonia.

    Mooresville & Kernersville will represent Area III in the state tournament. They start the Area III championship Monday at Lake Norman High School. Game time is 7:00 pm.

    Area 1 will be represented by Post 67 Cary Bulls 32-0 and South Chatham Jr. Legion 17-9

    South Caldwell A and South Caldwell B teams represent Area IV. Needless to say South Caldwell should be loaded again next year.

    Area III looks well represented for the upcoming
    State Tourney as Mooresville edged Kernersville tonight 10-9 in a 1 game playoff to decide seeds for this weekend. The Moors actually led 9-2 in the 6th but Post 36 loaded the bases with none out. Mooresville turned to their lefty closer and he proceeded to K the next 3 batters. But a cross up on the final K allowed the inning to continue. Next batter cleared the bases with a 3 run double. A walk and a no-doubt-about-it 3 run homer and game was tied at 9-9. Post 66 was able to weather the storm and answered with a 1 out single to right in the bottom of 7th to plate the game winner.
    The Moors play host Swansboro from Area II at 6:30 while Kernersville has a 3:30 start with Area II champ Jacksonville. Wish both squads luck and hope they carry the Area III banner proudly!
