Class of 2012 College Players

Bittersweet scene at Walnut Creek this weekend as many of the softball teams celebrated “senior day” for the girls moving on to college next week.

I was not there but I heard there were several 2011 grads out there playing as well, my opinion, not sure why either class was out there playing.

 

Not sure about 2011 (I agree about that), but on our team the 2012 girls made a commitment to the Travel Team for the whole year which ends in August after Nationals.
The 2012 girls have a leadership role, and with the showcase format at Walnut Creek, they get “swings in” with live pitching. In a few weeks is Nationals and to go the whole summer without playing time would not be good.
Also I know of a team that did not a have a full roster to play without the 2012 girls.

 

I understand that part and dont fault anyone other then the state as a whole for not getting the younger kids exposed more in the few bigger tournaments in the mid atlantic area, but as far as Nationals I absolutely understand that good luck.
