    CAROLINA MAN........... for your information, Randolph County is NOT in eastern part of the state........actually they are in central part of the state and what's more, Asheboro is west of Sanford which is CENTER city of NC.
    Anyway, I am from Area III and quite disappointed that we did not do well in state tourney but we are due for a off year anyhow........ We rule the legion ball for past 6 years or so and send two teams from AREA III to World Series.

    I pull for "new" team like Pitt County or Wilmington (yes Wilmington won state but it has been a long time).

    I understand what your're saying...But for your information, anything east of Caldwell County is THE EASTERN PART OF THE STATE to me. We are the WESTERN part.

    Congratulations on all your accomplishments in American Legion Baseball. Maybe someday teams from Area IV (western part of the state) like Caldwell County, Cherryville, Shelby, Rutherford County, Hickory, can be as good as you guys from the east. Maybe we need to practice more. Good luck and thanks for the geography lesson...

    Caldwell County vs Cherryville, WCSL 1590AM whatsupshopper on USTREAM. Radio

    See the worst call in baseball made here. Go to the 1hr 53min mark. Hard to see, but easy to see runner is out. The ball beat the runner to the plate. The Cherryville announcer even said he was out. You can clearly see the catcher is already back on warning track and umpire calls runner safe. Bobby Dale runs all the way down and gets call reversed. Hope this umpire never calls again!

    Can't see the play

    I can't see the throw, slide or the tag completely on the video. I listened live (watching Olympics) and watched the replay online. Heard announcers say several conflicting things: he's out, sweep tag, the ball came out, and the umpire had not signaled. It's confusing. Nobody is perfect. Typically you hold the ball, and show the umpire you still have it. Glad for Legion it didn't escalate further.

    Play was over when ball comes out. Catcher tags runner and turns to go to dugout and then ball comes out. Same thing as a transfer.
