CALDWELL COUNTY POST 29

Drove up from Shelby today to watch some good ole American Legion Baseball and clearly nothing has changed. Two good teams Cherryville and Caldwell battling to get to the State Championship Game and then it happened. The umpire behind the plate made a few bad calls that really swung the momentum to the side of Cherryville. The call at the plate in the 8th inning was as bad a call as I have seen this year in American Legion Baseball then the Caldwell coaches came onto the field and there were some ejections and some players ejected which is not good for the game. Never the less I know the umpire which was behind the plate and he really isn't qualified to be a coach pitch umpire letta alone a American Legion umpire. Maybe the folks from American Legion can do a better job with there selection for the umpires for tomorrows Championship Game. Good Luck to all the teams and will see you in a few weeks in Shelby.

 

Caldwell County Antics

Why is Caldwell County still playing? These clowns are a complete joke and have validated the fact that American Legion baseball is dying a slow death. Their antics vs. Queen City were repeated vs. Cherryville but yet these guys are still allowed to play??!! The quality of the umpiring has nothing to do with this. It's the actions of Caldwell County that are totally uncalled for. This bunch should be sent packing!!

 

Well my friend they were the host team this year in the State Tournament and therefore is why they are playing. And my point regardless of whether they should still be playing or not they were and the umpires really hosed them. I could care less who won the game just tired of the wanna be umpire crews and their BS calls. Let the kids play and see who wins instead of giving one team or another an advantage.

 

Did the Caldwell County first base coach assault any of the opposing players this time? That entire organization is a disgrace to the values of the American Legion and the game of baseball.
