Who are the 2013's with the highest ceiling in NC?

Morgan, Bostick, Koch, Wood Meyers, others?

Most good money feels Koch will get drafted pretty high out of HS - who else from the Charlotte area can follow his lead?

    Great question

This is a great question. I don't really care about hitting right now. Just looking at pitchers with posted 90 mph velo on perfect game, not stuff or command....i'll start with a couple i'd like to see next spring.

    Alexander Bostic (weddington HS)
Ryder Ryan (north meck HS 2014)

From reports, I have heard Watauga got a top 50 Prospect transfer in. Ryder Jones committed to Stanford.

I would say Matt Vernon is one of the top prospects around the state. His power isn't really matched by too many players around. Koch is a great catcher but his bat will keep him from getting drafted too high I believe. And Yes Watauga has a new player who will get drafted high, his dad is the new App State coach.

Thanks for adding to my "must see" list for 2013. Watching his video, I enjoyed his rhythm, momentum, and arm action and I found the comment that he might throw really hard with some mechanical adjustments... really interesting. Nice to throw 92 and have more in your hip pocket to give.

Bostic from Weddington will be the highest drafted player in the area. As a Jr. he pitched like a man among boys. By the time spring arrives, he'll be more polished and throw harder. With the exception of a few players, it will not be a fair fight for most guys with the bat in their hands. Very few of them will be hitters. As a tall lefty that throws a big time curve and a hot fastball, I believe he will get a phone call from some team early in the draft.

I know this post is about kids in NC. But since your post said "Stud", I thought I'd try to define the term a little. I was checking out my friends website and associated facebook page in FL. He congratulated a 2016 player he's worked with for throwing his first varsity fall game as a freshman. (0 hits, 0 walks, 4K's, 2 IP) Guess they play fall HS ball in FL. It doesn't sound too impressive until you read that he's been sitting 88-89 and touching 91 this summer in that World Scout League that some were asking about. So, Yes there is a WSL. Yes there are 2016's (freshmen) that throw over 90.... before HS. He just turned 15. Check it out. Prospect Report: Austin Bergner (2016 RHP) - YouTube
