We played in an ASA Tourn. this weekend in Marion. There are two things I would like to say. KODO'S to the umpire's by far the best I have ever seen. Get this, you could actually say "Oh Come On Blue" without fearing you would get your DD 3K's. It is nice to know there are still umpire's out there that are thick skinned and can let the coaches and the fans say a little and let it roll of their backs afterall we all know and they know what they say goes, but part of the fun is disagreeing with Blue. Anyway, class act all the way around. Secondly, as we were packing up to leave Sunday I watched as others packed up as well. I could not believe the amount of trash people were leaving behind, I mean give me a break are you this trashy at home and you all know who I am refering to, if the shoe fits. ASA went out of their way to provide us with comforts and I am sorry that at the end of the day on Sunday they had to clean up trash that grown folks and children of grown folks just left behind. Good gosh people have some respect and PICK UP YOUR OWN MESS. Thankyou ASA for a great weekend, look forward to the next one.:vanish:

    Agree...

Have to agree wholeheartedly with you "my kid". It was unbelieveable the amount of trash that people just left. I watched some sitting over to the side and they would just walk off and leave their bottles and papers laying there. I walked through a couple of times and tripped on bottles that were left just laying around. I guess it may just be me, but we brought some things with us and my DD knows that I don't go for that. I am so proud to say the whenever she finished anything she had she took those few extra steps and went to the trashcan. I echo that if that is the way some do at their own home I would hate to see the outcomes there.
But on a REAL positive note: this was one of the best tournaments I have been to in a long time. The umps were great and they were great not just with the teams, but with the fans. We had two umps that called a good number of our games and they were really good! It even stood out more to me because one of them looked quite young. (I found out later he was only 15. That was even more impressive in my eyes.) The partner he had with him was great also. They really complimented each other and were a good team.
It was some of the best competition that I have seen recently too. The games were competitive and the girls really showed their skill and abilities. The 14U Championship game was played to 7 innings and a 1-0 decision if that tells you anything about how the level of play was this weekend.
A BIG "PAT ON THE BACK" goes to the director and his crew. You guys are top notch and I can't wait to play in another tournament hosted by this group!!:jump:
