    Give them a break

The Vikings are 5-9 now and tied for 2nd in conference, half of those loses came from state ranked teams; lay off the coaches and let the girls play ball and have fun without all of the parents (or steps maybe) inteferring with their self indulged drama.

OK so they are 6-9... My next question to the original poster.... What would the record be if "daddyball" wasn't being played?? Would you be challenging for conference?? Playoffs? State championships??

I do not know who the Vikings are but glad they are winning. Our record as of today is 4-11. This record might be better without the daddyball any we are last in conference.

Just wandered how things were going now, I know others in the same situation and your experience may help. I know school ball is almost, but maybe some insite for next year would be helpful.

things are still the same. We have not won another game since the everyone on the team started seeing the daddy ball. All I can say is if someone try's out for a school team with a coach that is the daddy of a player is to think twice.

I coached at a school where 2 dads coached and one year 3 and we were ranked in the top 10 in the state and finished one game from the final 4 2 of those 3 years I coached. And we
still heard cries of "daddyball" from some. Not saying every case is the same but don't paint all with the same brush. From my experience when daddyball is cried that's usually the last resort by some who for whatever reason don't like the coach, don't like the kid(sometimes jealous of earned accolades) don't like the family etc etc. Good luck on your team. hope it gets better for ya.

'Just a reminder that there is a BIG difference in "Daddy Ball" vs. a team coached by dads. We have probably all been around long enough to differentiate between the two. I could name a couple of teams where dads are currently coaching that are having a very successful season and I could name a couple of teams right now that are not doing very good and the coaches' kids are getting more opportunities than the more highly skilled players. God grant me the serenity...
