Sanderson beats Apex 9-0. Junior Daniel Dulaney throws a no-no in the win. Dulaney Ks 6 and walks 3 with 1 runner reaching on an error in the 5th. Dulaney also had 2 hits on the night. Spartans bats were hot as they pound out 11 hits. Seniors Tyler Hardee and Tim Smiley both had 2 hits and CAS Silber made the play of the night with a barehanded play at 3rd to save the no hitter with 1 out in the 7th.

Middle Creek @ Sanderson on Tuesday. Might have to meet you there PirateFan! Go Mustangs

New Bern at Garner is going to be a good one too. Does Garner send lefty all-star Brighton Hudson to the mound again on three days rest? New Bern has a pitching STAFF!

Lots of good games in 4A East. Can all FOUR Tri-9 teams move on to Round 3? It will definitely be a tough task with three of the Tri-9 teams being lower seeds on the road.
    Middle Creek @ Sanderson
    Leesville @ Fuquay
    Holly Springs @ Millbrook
    Green Hope @ Riverside

    Middle Creek 2 Sanderson 1

All the aurguing about the best conference in the State was answered tonight as Middle Creek #4 seed out of Tri-9 beats Sanderson 2-1. If there is a better conference than the Tri-9 please tell me about it!!!. Senior Tyler Hardee went 7 for the Spartans allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 5. The Spartans could only muster 4 hits on the night. MAtt Koehler went yard in the top of the 1st to give the SPartans a 1-0 lead. Middle Creek scored 2 in the 3rd to take the lead and Graham Edwards came on to pitch the 6th and 7th as the Spartans left the tying and winning runs on in the bottom of the 6th. Great year by the Spartans. This will be my last post as my son, Tyler Hardee finished an outstanding high school career. Good luck to all of the eastern teams that are left!!
