    Post 66 'Moors' 6 - Concord 5

A new season started and the new coach made it count in the win column. Coach Seth Graham and the Post 66 Moors went into Concord last night to open the season, held the lead throughout the night but barely squeaked by for a 6-5 win. Coach Graham opened the season with Eythan Kramn behind the plate and Blade Best on the hill thru the 4th inning. Toeing the rubber from there on were Braeden Daniels, Logan Beegle, Mike Knight and Ryan James for the Save. The Moors moved to the lead in the second inning with 3 runs on 4 consecutive doubles by Paul Blankley, Kramn, Sam Marshall and Knight. Concord Post 51 tied the game twice more before Jesse Seaford plated the decisive run. Marshall drove in 3 of the 6 Moors runs. Defensively, Holden Pender at 1st and Seaford at 2nd locked down the right side all night. Great start for Mooresville Post 66. Awesome Baseball!

    South Rowan 13 - Post 66 Moors 3

    OUCH
‘Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you.’ Last night South Rowan American Legion rolled down Hwy 150 ready and pounded the Moors at Lake Norman High Park. Through 9 innings Mooresville Post 66 grasped for anything to stop the shellacking (old school for pounding) on the way to the 13–3 loss. The Moors sent many a pitcher to the mound, Logan Beegle, John Stiers, Braden Daniels, Jamie Anderson, Ryno James, and Garrett Welborne all took the hill. Didn’t seem to matter. Some nice turns at 2nd base by Jesse Seaford, a late triple by Hunter Harvey and some really good hot dog chilli where the only Home Team highlights for the evening. South Rowan deserves all the credit along with the win as Post 66 records their first loss of the season.

Junior Moors 10 West Rowan 3

Wednesday set the stage for the Post 66 Junior Moors home opener and for a fast start as they jumped on West Rowan in the first inning and cruised to a 10-3 win. Coach Angel Nino tagged Ian Perkins for the opening pitching duty, followed by Caleb Poteat in relief and the closer for the Moors was Eric Stetz. The offensive kept the pressure on all night at the plate with Cody Stocks 2-4 and Chris Adelphia with some big Knocks. The show was Petey Segovia who went 2-3 with relentless stolen bases; Sneaky Pete even stole home in the 4th inning. Friday night these guys travel to take on Rowan at Newman Park. 7:00

    Kernersville 6 Moors 3

The game looked good early with a 3-0 lead for Post 66. Kernersville never let up and pounded back as the game wore on. Hunter Harvey got the start on the mount and handed over the lead to the bull pen. Braeden Daniels, Aaron Harr, Mike Knight and Jamie Anderson battled in relief but the errors came and the lead proved to hard to hold. As they say, 'Tomorrow's a better day for Baseball.'

    Moors 16 Kannapolis 6

Last night it got cold at Kannapolis but HOT for the Moors. Post 66 brought out the wood and scored early and often. Josh Lamberth drove in the first run in the top of the 2nd, Michael Knight doubled in 2 more in the 3rd. The Moors Logan Beegle then sent a 3 run homer over the left field fence where nobody could catch it. Seth Hubbard followed with 2 run Homer to straight away center in the 5th. The pitching was even prettier. Blade Best was smokin thru 5 innings, Garrett Welborne carried the middle relief and Mike Elwell was just rude striking out the side to end the game in the 7th. NOT to be out done, Jesse Seaford and Paul Blankly showed some fancy defense to give Coach Seth Graham even more to smile about.

See you tonight at the Game...

    Kannapolis 4 Moors 1

Not gonna win many Legion games scoring only 1 run and this game held that truth. The mound play for the Moors was strong as Jon Stiers threw 5 innings, Jamie Anderson 2 and Ryno James the last but the guys got no run support from the cold Post 66 bats.

    Alumni Rocks to 7-1 Win

    Hope you were there!

Alumni BIG Game and Home Run Derby

    Sunday May 26,

    Alumni Post 66 Baseball Moors
    Vs.
    2013 Post 66 Baseball Moors

Sunday Post 66 Alumni game was a roaring success. Slowly the years rolled back as the Old Moors trickled in to the ball park. Somewhere after 4:00 the National Anthem was played and the Alumni TOOK the field to remind the 2013 New Moors who the real Home team was for the day. Jeremy Johnson opened up for the Old Moors relenting 1 run before striking out the side. That’s all the scoring the New Moors would do on the day as Wes Dumford, Kevin Wentzel and Closer Nathaniel Barker ’ took to the mound and the took the youngin’s to ‘Old School’ while behind home plate was catcher Jack Edmiston with Larry Sullivan pulling the ump duty. Tyler Lewis showed no age as he smacked a Homer over the right field fence in the 4th inning and 1970’s Moor Butch Nantz was 1 for 2 at the plate; technically that means Butch is batting .500 for the last 35 years.
Immediately after the Big Game the Home Run Derby cranked up and ‘Out of Here’ went the balls. While open to the public brought out some dreamers, it came down to a Moors Alumni battle. Billy Nantz hit a few for an early lead until Chris Dula banged the top of the center field fence and following some crowd jeers he left NO doubt by launching the next 6 or so into the stratosphere towards Lake Norman. Dula and Wes Dumford collected the prizes as the happy fans left for home and the Alumni in search of the Ibuprofen. Awesome day, See you next Year…

    Tonight Memorial Day

    Moors 14 Rowan 5

The Post 66 Moors headed up to Rowan and got the benefit of an early WalkFest. The Moors picked up 7 runs in the first inning on multiple base on balls, a hit batter and a couple line drives and cruised to the win. The Moors pushed across 14 runs on 13 hits. Garrett Bell doubled down the line for 2 runs in the 5th, and Brett Pope seemed to spend the night on the bases. On the hill for Post 66, Logan Beegle pitched thru 5.2 allowing 1 run on 2 hits, Ryno James had another strong relief effort, Mike Elwell followed before Jamie Andersen settled in and shut down the Rowan batters the last 3 innings. At 3rd base Sam Marshall buzzed the crowd with a diving stab throw out double play in the 2nd inning and Ethan Kramn turned in a stellar night behind the plate. Welcome uneventful win as the Moors are gutting through 8 straight nights of play.

Tonight the Moors travel to Stanly for a 7:00 start.
They return home Wednesday at Lake Norman High Park, 7:00
    See You At the Game...
