NC Wildcats win Dynamites Classic

    Had a great weekend in Columbia (uncommonly mild weather) watching a lot of talented NC-based teams. The Wildcats and Cardinals played for title with the Wildcats emerging as victors.

    Despite early recruiting there are still a good number of uncommitted '14's. Hopefully these kids will get opportunities since I felt some of them were as good or better than some of the committed kids.

    i was bothered by some teams (not the 'cats or cards) that pitched the same kid all weekend; some doing this with kids who were already signed. Don't kid yourself; this will eventually take a toll on these girl's arms. Kids heading for college in the Fall need to work on their strength and cardio and just throw enough to stay sharp. This time next year TB awards will mean absolutely nothing.

    My view is that . . . .

    If ever there was a time that a softball pitcher should be treated like a baseball pitcher (pitch counts, rest, etc.) it's the Summer before they begin their collegiate career. Refresh the arm, rest the mind, go to the beach on a few weekends and read a couple of fun novels. Arrive on campus fit and rested because the freshman year will likely to the most difficult year (academically and athletically) of the girl's life.

    Carolina Wildcats (McPhail) -2013 Dynamite Classic Champs!!

    Congrats to the Wildcats (McPhail) for going 11-0 and winning the 2013 Dynamite Classic!!! Way to go Ladies.....awesome effort. This was a huge accomplishment.....Keep up the great work!!

    Congrats also to Cardinals (McHone) who made it to the Championship Round. Great showing from NC Teams.

    Special Congrats also to Wildcats Coach Jeff McPhail and Coach Mac Page on the win !! Both of these Gentlemen are long time veterans in NC Fastpitch, and both have been around fastpitch for many, many years.
    Thanks for all that you have done for our sport and for helping so many young ladies realize their dreams.

    Go Wildcats!!!

    CONGRATS to the Wildcat players for the way they played all weekend !! Hitting was our key along with good pitching on Sunday. Good to see NC teams still playing Sunday afternoon. We had good attendance of college coaches at our games on Thursday-Saturday and still had a few there late Sunday. We had good response from some on Monday.
