high school playoff seedings

In the past the bracket have been predetermined by conference positions alotted with conference X number 1 matched up against conference XX 3 or 4, or something similar to that. I have heard this year there will be 4 pods as always but the teams in each pod will seeded 1-16, and follow at traditonal bracket ie, 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 and so on, can anyone clarify this for me. And I was told by my AD the seeding would be determined by your overall record with no consideration to strength of schedule, I am a coach a 1A school and play a tough out of conference schedule, playinig a couple of the top 3A and 2A teams in the state according to current rankings in Max Preps as well as the NC coaches rankings, this is concerning to me as it appears we could be penalized for playing a difficult schedule while possibly going undefeated in our class. I understand you have to beat everyone at some point so I guess it does not matter in the end, just curious if anyone can clarify this in any way. Thanks!

It doesn't appear to have changed like you heard.

The Tar Roanoke winner will have a WC in round 1 with a Four County/ Three Rivers draw in the second round -- not a bad draw

Sometimes it is luck of the draw -- a 3 or 4 seed from one conference is a tougher game than a 1 or 2 in another sometimes.

 

Yeah I did look at that first before I asked it just conflicted with what my AD had told me a few days ago, maybe its something they are looking at in the future, but thanks.
