    It depends...

... on how and when you want to talk to him.

Most people that want to "talk" don't want to talk.
They usually have a complaint or gripe.
They don't talk - they get really close to the body, point in the face, raise their voices, accuse the coach of "being a liar," or of," playing favorites," or of," mistreating kids" - and it's amazing how it happens right after games... and oddly enough high percentages following losses.

Those that want to really just talk usually just walk right up and do it - and it goes well, as it should.
Those that want to "talk" realize they need an appointment (as does the coach and most every other parent who has heard their "talk" in the stands during games) so a third party can buffer their "talk."

I will gladly talk to you, and I'm a coach - well depending on who you talk to...

    Coach Fowler,
    Glenn High

    Approachable

Heck I'm always approachable cause I'm in the stands when the game is over with!! If somebody has a question they can come and talk to me then! I guess I'm lucky cause I don't hear a lot of complaining!! I had a parent ask me why his son was being DH for the other day! I'm not the head guy but the player did get a bat at the end but the DH has 6 HR and his hitting like 360! Not saying that I'm a person who does everything right but if they got something to say I can deal with it! But truly if it is bad the head coach is the one who has to deal with it I just try to smooth it over so maybe it doesn't get to him Just my thoughts

ecued, here is my 2 cents,

    1. The parent usually can't see how good or bad their kid really is and thus they will look like an idiot when they try to talk to the coach.

    2. The Coach is an Idiot and does not know what he is doing and thus you will end up just getting pissed off more!!

    3. Then there are a few coaches who really do try to do their best and are always open for comments or suggestions and really do listen, those are the coaches you rarely hear about because everyone likes and respects them...

    4. Some coaches are always right in their mind and refuse to listen or adapt to changes, those are the ones where the parents are always upset at the coach and kids quit or transfer out of the school. Try to identify those schools early and you will save yourself years of being miserable.
