    Actually, I pretty much agree with you.

    Our pitcher last year would likely not have received ROY had it not been for my daughter calling the games. By the same token, my daughter wouldn't have likely been DPOW three times, if not for her amazing pitchers. Neither of the two could have won the game alone. It takes 9 people on that field working together to create success. Those state championship trophies epitomize exactly that.

    The only place I would disagree is on her All-American scholars and national scholar awards. She cherishes these because she heard for many years that she was "not college material" due to her learning disabilities. She pushed herself, graduating with honors from high school and in college has killed herself to get the job done. She is graduating a year ahead of time and currently holds a 3.72 GPA :)

    What she will remember at the end of the day is not those things that are up in the attic, but the people she shared both triumphs and heartbreaks with. And at the end of the day what will matter the most is if she left her team with a better future than the day she first stepped on the field.

    Those awards that seem so important to some people today will not be, trust and believe, the last thing they think about as they leave this earth to join God in Heaven. Those memories they made just might be :)

    Memories—good memories—for everyone! If I can successfully help accomplish that I'll have good memories. Anything less takes something away.

    Amen.

    Another shining example revealed last night. (Stats from Maxpreps)

    Player A - .518 BA, .548 OBP, .767 SLG, 29 hits, 31 RBI's, 21 runs, 8 doubles, 3 triples.

    Player B - .286 BA, .324 OBP, .285 SLG, 10 hits, 8 RBI's, 8 runs, 0 extra base hits.

    Both players are outfielders - so defense is not significant especially since Player A is CF and B is RF.

    Player B - Coaches daughter is named All Conference, Player A is not.

    Speculation is there was something personal going on between player or player's parent and the coach, but really?????
