The Firecrackers mission is to provide a level of training to our players that ensures the highest level of social and athletic development and growth. Playing the game professionally, having self-respect, and respecting others are the core values that this program was built upon. Most importantly, you are striving to make the decisions that will provide you happiness for the rest of your life.
The Firecrackers organization is dedicated to the progressive advancement of players both as athletes and young ladies. It is our goal as an organization to teach our players important life lessons through the game of softball, such as discipline, hard work, commitment, perseverance and the value of teamwork.

We are proud of the success that Firecracker players have experienced in Travel Ball, at the College Level, at the Professional Level and at the National Team Level. It is the goal of the coaching staff to provide an environment to develop the individual skills of each of our players to the best of our ability. We will also emphasize to all members the importance of team play and accomplishing our goals as a team. We know that we will incur failure over the course of the year, but understand that making mistakes is an opportunity to learn.

Although individual awards and accolades are great, it is our belief that nothing beats accomplishing goals as a TEAM, because when the team succeeds, we all succeed, no matter what individual role we played in that success. And we want to promote the success of all travel ball players, not just Firecrackers.

    Carolina Cobras 12U (02) Spring 2015!!

Carolina Cobras 12U (02) based in Alexander county is looking for an A bracket pitcher, catcher, and middle infielder (mainly SS) for the upcoming 2015 season. We are looking for dedicated and athletic players and parents with positive attitudes. We have a strong core group of players ready for next season and are looking to add these positions to fill the remaining spots on the roster. Our team practices at the Alexander Central softball field and will be playing in various sanctions including NSA, USSSA, Top Gun, and ASA. We will continue playing 12U A bracket this spring and plan to move to 14U in the fall.

Here are the comments of one family about their experience with our team this past season:

“I just want to take a minute to thank all of the parents and players for this past season! I hate that our daughter wasn’t able to play with y’all in the last tournament and as you know, she has to move up this next season. You all are a great group, you made us feel welcome from the beginning. I’ve never been around a group who is so supportive of each other. I never heard a bad word said about anyone! If one of the girls made a mistake, you all just tried to encourage them to do better! I wish you the best of luck next year! You have a great and strong group of girls!! See ya at the ballfields!!”

Check out our Facebook page by searching for Carolina Cobras – Alexander. If you are interested in joining our team, contact Anthony Fairchild at (828) 310-2654 or email us at [email protected].

Charlotte Magic (Wright) 14u looking for college-minded players

Due to some of our existing players moving up to our organization's 18u showcase team after this fall, the Charlotte Magic 14u "A" team will be holding open tryouts for the upcoming spring/summer season. All positions and eligible ages will be considered.

The 14u Charlotte Magic has an all-female, all-player coaching staff with no daughters on the team. Head Coach Myka Wright Cygielman is a decorated former collegiate coach and player from Southern California who emphasizes mental toughness and leadership. An all-conference catcher and shortstop in college, she works with hitters, infielders, and catchers on an in depth level. Nicole Stovall is a senior captain at Belmont Abbey who focuses on outfield, lefty-hitting, and base running. Mallory Broome is a junior at Western Carolina University and one of the starting pitchers for the Catamounts. She works closely with our pitchers on both their physical and mental game. While Nicole and Mallory are in-season, the coaches from the 18u Charlotte Magic Showcase team will be lending a hand to Coach Myka.

This fall, the Charlotte Magic 14u team carried 13 players representing 12 different schools and 3 states. We have been consistently ranked as one of the best teams in the Carolinas and compete only in ASA and NSA "A" level tournaments and college showcases. Last summer, we qualified for and participated in the NSA Class “A” World Series and the ASA Diamond Classic World Series. This fall we participated in three collegiate showcases which featured college coaches from all over the country as well as placing third in the fall Cheerwine tournament.

PLEASE NOTE - This 14u team is specifically designed, organized, and coached to prepare athletes for a continuing career in collegiate softball. While we play to win, we emphasize building knowledge, leadership, and mental toughness in players who have the potential to succeed at the next level. This is not a team for those who want to simply win trophies; it is a team for those who want to prepare to be seen by coaches at a showcase level and eventually play in college. We put a lot of responsibility on the players and simulate a collegiate environment. The coaching staff also assists with player profiles, skills videos, and all aspects of the recruiting process.

Tryouts will be at the field at Northside Christian Academy (entrance is at the intersection of West Sugar Creek and The Roman Road in Charlotte) December 13th from 12 - 3pm. Pitchers and catchers should expect to stay later. We will hold additional tryouts if necessary. Please contact Coach Myka (805-403-2884 or [email protected]) for additional information about the team and to RSVP for tryouts. All inquiries and group correspondence will be kept completely confidential.

You can also find updates, directions, and information on our website (Charlotte Magic 14u Travel Softball), Facebook page (facebook.com/charlottemagic14u), or Twitter feed (@CLTMagic14u).
