Blue Devils have a strong corps of sophs and a few impact freshmen this season. My only concern is coaching and I would not even mention that but its really bad and has been for a few years now. This group of players have been involved with AAU and USSSA for the last few years and really started playing well as a team last summer. We will see what happens this season.

    Key Players:
    Justin West 10 RR P,IF
    Matt Skidmore 10 RR P,IF
    Caleb Diggs 10 LL OF,P
    Thomas Harris 10 RR C
    Jake Smith 10 RR OF,P
    Jacob Wertz 10 RR IF
    Seth Ryan 9 RR P,IF,OF

Tank, if you don't know by now, then you will soon be pleasantly surprised to find out that Mooresville also has a freshman (Justin Ogle) that is as good or better than all of those names that you mentioned. Ogle has a nice bat, strong arm and very good wheels. Nice shortstop/leadoff batter type.

    Mooresville Guys

    Tank, Wufman

I've seen a lot of progress from the Mooresville guys over the last few years. They have really blossomed into some good ball players. You guys are going to give the conference fits when they hit varsity next year.

NCBBALLFAN, thanks but I'm not from Mooresville. I just happen to follow the local teams in this immediate area.

I know Justin very well, he and my son are friends and have played football and baseball together since middle school. Justin went straight to VARSITY, thats why I did not list him here in this JV thread. Thanks for all the kind words about our progress and good luck this season.

Thanks Tank, it does not surprise me that Justin Ogle went straight to varsity. He's good.

I made another comment about some freshmen at Northwest Cabarrus and folks will soon hear about them on varsity too,,, maybe even this spring. You may know the boys that I'm talking about at NW if you're from this area...

Btw,,, is "Hacksaw" playing JV or Varsity??? Is Hacksaw the Harris kid you mentioned earlier? I happen to know that Hacksaw can hit the ball well, but I'm not sure of his age...

    Skiddy can flat out fly...

There is an old saying in baseball "If you can hit, they will find you a place to play"

There is a lot of players on every JV team in the county that are "out of position" for where they need to be playing at the H.S. level. It's up to the coaches to move them to where they can excel and give them the instruction to suceed. I always picture Zack as moving to 1B down the road.

Give us an in-depth report on the JV Situation.... obtw: Great to have some JV input on the board -we don't hear from enough players.

we will have a pretty good jv team this year we just need to find a new shortstop. David mcAuley is the slowest player on the team and has no range. a shortstop has to have range. Zack would be a good 1st baseman if he continues to grow like he is. He hasnt been hitting like he has before. just some view of jv at north meck. also Zack rosenbaum should be a starting pitcher on Varsity he got clocked at 86 the other day at his dads building.
