I just heard that Freedom beat Shelby 5 or 6 to 2. Weatherman evidently pitched very well and Dergins shut them down in relief from what I have heard. Maybe someone that was there can fill in the blanks.

Yes, Freedom did beat Shelby 5-2. Chad Weatherman pitched a great game. He pitched 5 innings and gave up 2 runs. The 2 runs were off a home run, (which the ball was 2 feet out of the zone, and the kid still hit it out). Alex Dergins came in and pitched the final 2 innings. Alex Chapman and Cody Bryant led the Patriots with 2 hits a piece. The Pats are suppose to play Hibritan today, but their field is in bad shape. If they don't play today, they will play on Saturday. The Patriots did a better job of hitting the ball against a better pitcher. I hope they get their game in today. Good Luck Boys!!!!

    North Meck vs Butler

North Meck got 5 innings of no hit pitching from Sam Pierce (05) in a win tonight against Butler. North also used it's team speed to create problems for the Butler defense.

Benji Sheehan (04) came in to close out the last two innnings, allowing just an infield single and complete the shutout.

Final Score: North Meck: 9, Butler 0

Alexander brought out the bats for the first time this year and beat Davie County at ACHS 7-1..Brandon Kinniard (junior) threw a 2-hitter and struck out 7 in 6 innings of work facing only 20 batters. Kinniard I was told by one of the coaches only threw 58 pitches!!Offensively ACHS was led by Payne,Hollifield,Wagner,Kerley,Hefner, and Kinniard. Hefner pitched the 7th striking out all 3 hitters he faced.
