    Hopewell 2 - East Meck 1 (Tuesday, 3/4)

Three pitchers used for Hopewell, winning pitcher was Dusty White. Four hits for Hopewell, two for East Meck.

Game against Waddell scheduled for Wed, 3/5 cancelled due to memorial services for one of the school coaches who passed away recently after suffering a heart attack after school at the track.

Ashbrook JV team is very solid defensively. They have several good hitters as well, one player homered off of our starter in the fith inning. The only weakness that I saw was their pitching. Their starter was good but they struggled when he left the game. They used five pitchers Friday, too many walks and hit batters. They appear to be very well coached. They also appeared to be good sports and were not mouthy, and they played with intensity the whole game.

Ashbrook's jv pitching will be by committee all year. The reason?
One freshman and three sophomores pitch for the varsity, depleting the jv's staff. Gibson's surgery has had an affect on both clubs.
