    Providence 2, Waddell 1

Prov. didn't hit well but used four solid pitchers-Clay, Mason, Hilfiger, Jones. Jones came in in the 7th with score at 1-1. With 2 out, Deitrich on 3rd, McCurdy walks & keeps going to 2nd. Cathcer throws down to second, Deitrich comes home, Providence wins. Credit Horniak with some crafty coaching.

The young man from Waddell, #5, threw a very nice game & their fielders made some nice plays. They deserve credit as well for a good ball game.

After a slow start, West Meck could become a power in the Meca8 this season. They've been playing well lately which is hard to do in all this rain. Good job guys.

Is the score above the 3/12 game or did they play a 2nd time??

    North Meck at Independence

Zack Ferry did a nice job for Independence on the mound. He had some pop on his fastball early and kept the NM hitters off-balance for most of the game. Regardless, Sam Pierce matched him pitch for pitch through most of the game with North pushing over 2 early runs. Matt Murphy came on in relief of Pierce in the 6th with 2 outs and ended the threat that inning.

We North leading 2-0, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, Indy had a runner reach on error, followed by a double. With runners at 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs, North gave an IBB to the next batter to load the bases.

1 Wild Pitch later, with the score 2-1, Independence hit a 3-run homer to complete the comeback and grab the victory 4-2.

When the fields dry, the batting practice resumes, both of these teams look to continue to improve on what could be a great rivalry this season. Both teams looked very good at most times, and will give other teams in the Meca8 fits this season.

Special Note: Sam Pierce has now completed 18 Innings of work this season without allowing a single run (of any type).

Congrats to Indy on the victory.

    West Meck @ North Meck

Continuation of game started wednesday. The game resumed with the beginning of the 4th inning.

The score 1-0 in favor of West Meck. North Meck sophomore T. Porter set the early tone for the game by striking out the side in the 4th ... North scored and took a 2-1 lead late into the game. West Meck pushed over an unearned run in the top of the sixth on a single, their only hit of the day and an error by the defense. The game continued without any score with both pitchers battling out on the mound. After squandering many scoring opportunities, North pushed over a run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th for the 3-2 victory.

Porter was in control most of the day, striking out 14, walking 1 and allowing 1 single for the 7 innings played today. The West Meck pitcher battled strong the entire game, pitching the complete 7 innings today and pitching around base runners repeatedly and effectively for most of the game.

Both pitchers started the game on wednesday and completed it today, going 10 innings each. In total for the game, Porter struck out 16, allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run.

THIS WAS AN EXCITING GAME TO WATCH.....

The West Meck 9 Hunter Huss 3 game was the 3/12 game. The pitcher for West Meck against North Meck was Zach Butler. He's pitched great for us this year but has had tough luck losing 4-1 to East Meck, 5-0 to South Meck, 1-0 to Independence, and 3-2 against North Meck. Three of his four losses are against top teams in the county and we have had a chance to win any one of those games because of his pitching.

Zack was outstanding ... that guy is a battler on the mound ... I wish I had heard his name at the game ...... He kept his composure all day long, regardless of the situation. West Meck will continue to be dangerous every time he pitches, that's for sure.

    Really great job out there.
