    North Meck JV's roll on!

The North Meck JVs had a solid night with good pitching from starter Kelly( 4 innings) and Hamilton with the close. Mike Murray went 2 for 5 with a long 3 run homer over the left field fence and Greg Allen went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs. The defense continued to be strong with very few if any errors in the field.

I'm with you Highntight. The North JV bats have come alive. With 29 total runs scored in the last 2 games, these kids are on fire. Allen and Dozier had solid hits against Harding and Pou went 4 for 5 with 2 singles, a double and a triple. It's good to see the bats come alive thru the order. The pitching has been strong from Kelly and the defense has been behind him. Keep up the good play Junior Vikings!!!!

    Independence 11 Hopewell 0

I heard that Indy won 11-0 in 5 innings against Hopewell. A. Bray pitched a 3 hitter and C. Hartis and D. Miller had some big hits.

    3/27 - Independence vs. Hopewell

    Independence 11 - Hopewell - 0 (6 innings)

    W P - Bray; LP - White
Errors beat Hopewell tonite - 8 on paper and several more mental. White pitched the first four innings giving up 5 hits; Futrell finished up the last two innings giving up a couple. Damage was done early and Hopewell just couldn't get it going offensively or defensively.

BBALLER44: You are right about Zack Pou he has hit the ball hard and deep in just about every game. Whitmire and Allen have also been consistent and it was great to see Mike Murray hit well the last game. I beleive this team could compete with most of the varsity team I've seen play this year. They have not even looked at Allen to pitch which is a big surprise. If they continue to play good defense and hit the ball well i'm not sure who in the MECCA 8 can beat them?

    About Allen pitching

They SERIOUSLY need to look at this kid on the mound. He has too much potential. The conference will say: "As if North really needs another fireballing Sophomore righty" - but you can NEVER have enough pitching.

With Rosenbaum almost sure to stick with Varsity the rest of the season after that outing (he may go back and forth SOME to make sure he is logging some innings), what is the starting rotation on the JV team? I know Brandon Kelly is starting. Who else are the starters this season?

The North JV team is deep with pitching. There are several players on the team who are great pitchers (Allen and Pou). I know Pou has pitched well at the AAU level and in middle school. The JV needs more righties on the hill since Rosenbaum has moved up. It is a shame these kids aren't getting some time on the mound. I understand Oldguycoach is familiar with most of these players. How about it Oldguy. What are your thoughts on this.

    Mooresville @ W. Rowan

Mooresville wins its third game this week. Starting pitcher Justin West went 5 innings and Matt Skidmore closed the game for the Blue Devils. Mooresville bats continue to remain hot as they blow the game open in the second inning and cruise to 16-8 victory. Hacksaw Harris, Jake Smith, Caleb Diggs, Seth Ryhne and West all getting multiple hits. The baby Devils have a week off before hosting NW Cabbarus for a double header on Friday, 4/4.

*Mooresville scores a total of 44 runs this week while allowing 13 in three games and bump their record to 7-1 on the season*

Most of the players on JV North team have pitched at a competive level and done fairly sucessful. Just the main thing is that our coach is strict on playing one position and sticking to it rather than moving spot to spot, position to position. I have been a pitcher for my AAU team and middle school with Zach Pou and I have only lost 3 games in the past two years. I would be gald to pitch for coach Lightle. This will probably will be the case next year if Big Mac doesnt make Varsity ball.
