I hear "rumors" that Piedmont has a pretty good baseball team in the SPC this year; however, there's been absolutely "NO" reports about any other SPC teams on this message board.

Is there any baseball being played in the SPC this spring? If so, I sure wish someone would share this info with the rest of us.

I realize that the "North" Piedmont 3A Conference is MUCH MUCH stronger, I think this is fairly obvious. But "surely" there's a few teams and individuals in the SPC that at least deserve "some" recognition.

    SPC teams include:
    Piedmont
    Weddington
    Sun Valley
    Concord
    J.M.Robinson
    Anson
    Parkwood
    (not sure about anyone else)

There are other good teams in the SPC. Weddington and JM Robinson are both good teams. Peidmont is not the only strong team in that conference. Weddington has some good prospects. Robinson is still a young team with some key senior's. Both teams could make something happen in the playoffs. Look to see all three teams competing for the SPC conference.

Peidmont hasn't won the conference yet....there are still a few teams that can still give them a run for their money including both weddington and robinson. peidmont has lost one conference game to anson. Robinson has beat anson twice but suffered one loss to peidmont and one to weddington. so if peidmont drops one or two more then the conference is still wide open to both weddington and robinson. im not sure how sun valley is doing but they also might still be in the running. we will just have to wait and see. just because the NPC is stronger then the SPC, that doesnt mean there isnt good baseball being played in the SPC...

Sun Valley is 3-3 in conference in games that I know about. The swept Concord and won at Weddington. They lost at home to Weddington and Anson and lost at Parkwood. There was a game on 3/21 against Robinson that I do not remember the outcome. Games at Anson and at Piedmont were rained out and I do not know the makeup dates.

there are 3 very well stand out left handed pitchers. Matt Foard of Peidmont, Morgan Tyson of Anson, and Andy Benson of JM Robinson. All 3 are very solid pitchers in the SPC

FINALLY!!! some responses from the SPC....

Ok, first of all, I never meant to imply that the SPC teams are no good, or that the SPC doesn't have any baseball at all. Lets make something clear, I've only been trying to lure SPC fans into becoming more involved on this message board. "WE" baseball fans would like to hear about your better teams and individuals.

Yes, I'm a follower of the North Piedmont Conference and I "STRONGLY" feel that the NPC is much MUCH stronger than the SPC, for whatever reason. However, with that said, we're all still very interested in hearing about the better SPC players and teams.

I will agree that Matt Foard at Piedmont is a very good quality pitcher. Not sure about Benson (JMR) or Tyson (Anson). I'm sorry, but I can only compare these guys to our NPC teams and I just can't imagine Benson or Tyson beating many NPC teams. But tell me more if you think I'm wrong. Tell me "how good" are these guys, what have they done, who have they beat?

Please share other details about other SPC players. Which teams have been the best hitting teams? Who has the nicest stadiums in the SPC?

Benson is a good pitcher for Robinson and the teams best. Robinson also can hit the ball. Jeff Schafer the senior leftfielder is batting over .700 in conference play and over .600 for the season. Robinson plays Sun Valley @ Robinson on Tuesday.
