Ok guys, lets keep it clean. Please, no namecalling in a negative way. If you must list specific players, lets keep it positive. But every since these schools realigned into different conferences a couple years ago, theres been an ongoing debate on which 3A conference is stronger. Lets talk about this year's high school baseball teams, give your arguments and reasons.

I will start things off. Of course, I'm a NPC supporter but this has nothing to do with my reason. I simply feel the NPC is much stronger than the SPC and I could go on and on with my reasons. But I will simply say this: Piedmont is the "only" SPC team that would have any hope of competing on a daily basis in the NPC. JMRobinson (SPC) may could give NPC teams a good game and maybe win occasionally, but they could not compete day-to-day enough to contend. With the NPC, right now West Rowan, Northwest Cabarrus, East Rowan (of course ER even on a down year) and Mooresville "ALL" seem to be playing baseball at a very high level. Lake Norman beat Kannapolis, but Kannapolis has defeated "3" (countem 3) different 4A teams. Also, North Iredell gave West Rowan "ALL WR WANTED" before losing only 4-2. Simply put, theres just not many (if any) "breathers" in the NPC this season. One last thing, several teams (WR, NW, Mville, LNor, East) have all proven that they "DO" have strong pitching, which is what it takes to get you far in the playoffs.

And btw, when I said that Piedmont could contend, I didn't say they could win the NPC, I said they would only contend. In fact, my guess is that they would finish no higher than 3rd, maybe 4th.

In comparison with the NPC, the SPC simply looks like they are playing on a lower level. I don't mean to kick anyone when they are down. Someone from the SPC please prove me wrong. I would love to hear some names or good baseball news about the SPC, if there "is any"...

NCBBALLFAN, my guess is, that nobody from the SPC will respond, because they can't dispute anything that I just stated above. The NPC is actually a "MUCH" stronger conference this spring.

If an argument can't be made for the SPC (and I don't believe one can), then I would at least like to hear whats going on with the SPC this year.

Will someone from the SPC PLEEEEEEEEEZE come out to play!!! :D

    SPC fans, where are you?

NCBBALLFAN, obviously there must not be any baseball being played in the SPC this year...

    Kannapolis 10, Piedmont 8

I think this score says a lot about the relative strengths of the conferences. Kannapolis didn't play all that well and still wins, albeit in 11 innings (whew!).

    Kannapolis-10 over Piedmont-8

Thats about what I figured. Kannapolis is currently in 4th place of the NPC while Piedmont is leading the SPC, and although this was a nonconference game, Kannapolis goes to Piedmont and comes home with a win. I understand Piedmont even used their best pitcher for several innings in this "nonconference" game???

I'm not bashing Piedmont, because I believe Piedmont has a good team, but theres just a big difference in the strengths of these 2 conferences (NPC way stronger than SPC)...

Btw, can someone tell me who pitched for Kannapolis in this game?
