East Meck vs. Charlotte Christian

    Another great match up between 2 great teams. Tyler White won't be able to play tom. b/c of a dislocated shoulder, so thats puts a slight advantage to CCS. But if east wins, they should get the respect they deserve, and the "SOUTH MECK OBSERVER" (haha) might even mention east meck in a boxscore this time in the paper(chuckle chuckle). I'm predicting a high scoring affair.
    What are your thoughts?

    The SOUTH MECK OBSERVER" (haha) WILL mention East Meck in their boxscores in the paper IF East Meck calls in the scores(chuckle chuckle)...that's all it takes?!?

    What a game, a few brave souls drove over to support their team. A light rain started the game off and then it stopped and we had great weather until the last inning and a half.

    Ryan Furlong pitching for CC and Burnham for EM. I will cut to the chase and let Wanksta and possibly CC12501 fill in the details if they choose.

    Brenden Stucky came in and relieved Furlong. Stucky is CC's closer. He is a sidearm pitcher who tonight held the Eagles in check for over 4 innings. He truly deserved the Best Pitcher of the Tournament Award which he won. A very determined and gutty effort. Frankly when Coach Simmons brought him in early I was wondering what is CC going to do when Stuckey runs out of gas. He didn't. Plus he made two great plays on bunts, including one to end the game with Zach Watson the second baseman covering first while the corners crashed on a two out bunt attempt.

    Excellent defense by Christian coupled with enough hitting in the first inning and some EM defensive lapses was enough to pull this game out.
