    SWF 3-A tournament

    Apparently the SWF 3-A tournament has been cancelled. If true, the SWF 3-A playoff spots go to:

    #1 - St Stephens
    #2 - Hickory
    #3 - Crest

    Crest's victory over St. Stephens last Friday effectively gave the Chargers the tie breaker with Kings Mountain, who plays their final conference game against Hickory today. A win by the Mounties over Hickory will result in a 2 team tie for the third and final spot (Crest and KM).

    For Kings Mountain to qualify for a playoff spot, the Mounties would have to win the conference tournament (3 games this week). KM played St. Stephens on Monday and is scheduled for Hickory today. Three tournament games this week would give the Mounties 5 total games. Unofficial sources indicate that the NCHSAA said no to 5 games for KM this week and apparently would not approve the tournament.

    West Meck has had 2 outstanding games in a row with consecutive shutouts of North Meck, then Hopewell both by identical 1-0 scores.

    Congrats to the guys from West Meck ... you're playing great ball right now !!!!!!
