South Caldwell beat AC Reynolds 10-0 in 5 innings. Marc Guerra pitched for the Spartans and did not allow a hit. I am not sure if that is considered a true no-hitter cause it only went 5 innings, but Marc certainly gets one big attaboy.

Conference schedule for the playoffs looks like this I do believe. South winning the conference is off Monday. Meanwhile 2-7 play eachother at the higher seeded teams home (and listed first is the home team). I think this is right, if it isn't I appologize.

    Alexander vs AC Reynolds
    McDowell vs Freedom
    Watagua vs East Burke

Alex/ACR winner plays McD/Free winner at South Tuesday
South Caldwell plays Wat/EB winner at South Tuesday

    Finals at South Wednesday night.

    Watauga 9
    South Caldwell 2

    WP-Nigro - 1 hit, 6 walks, 1 hit batsman
    LP-Reid - 16 hits, 2?walks

South made an uncharacteristic 6 errors, but Watauga hit the ball with authority and confidence. Of note, Watauga has had 54 hits and over 30 runs in their last five games. ACHS/Watauga matchup will be interesting tomorrow.

ACHS beat McDowell (Taylor) 7-3. ACHS hit the ball well, and the pitching was good enough to win. Kinniard came in to close the door and pick up another save. Payne got the win. Today they will play Watauga in what should be a great offensive hitting game. Hope ACHS saved some hits for today. Whomever wins this one gets the final NW4A spot in the State's.

Watauga's brutal non-conference schedule is paying huge dividends down the stretch. This is a battle-tested team whose biggest question mark in February was offense. With 20 runs in two playoff
games this week, that issue seems to have been resolved with production throughout the lineup. They sure have come a long way since their first conference game- an 8-3 loss to S. Caldwell !
