Fuquay wrapped up home-field last night with a 11-1 win over Cary :)( ). Lee County beat Green Hope 4-1. Lee and Green Hope each have 3 losses as of today with 1 game left for each. Lee plays Western Harnett, and Fuquay is at Green Hope. The only way Green Hope can make the playoffs is if they beat Fuquay tomorrow night.

Oh yeah, I got one more High School game left and it's tomorrow night at Apex. Our big rival... and I am on the mound. I can't wait. But guess which day they are callin' for rain? Of course, tomorrow. Hopefully it'll hold off. Legion season starts next Thursday, well actually Sunday with practices.

What is the situation over in the adjoining conference?

What's the playoff picture? Is Garner still in the hunt? Give us some updates.

    Triangle Alliance Update

South Johnston won 4-A Triangle Alliance championship.

Justin Barefoot hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to cap a 12-2 win over Garner.

South Johnston (18-3 overall, 9-0 TAAC) has 1 remaining game, but has assured itself the conference crown.

Garner's current record is 13-7 (6-3 in conference play)

Garner and East Wake play tomorrow night to determine who advances to the playoffs in the Triangle Alliance Conference.

Hempy should be on the mound, don't know who East Wake will throw but they win with their offense. Mark Carver (East Wake's catcher headed to UNCW) has been on a tear this season. I heard someone say he hasn't struck out this year... but it might of just been sarcastic?

I haven't seen where Hempy has been on the mound lately. Anyone know anything?? As for Marc Carver at East Wake. He has my vote for NC player of the yr. I have seen him play 5-6 times and he just keeps impressing. I think as of last week he was hitting over .500 with 15 dingers. And this has been against really good competition at a 4A HS. To give you an example, he's hit against the pitching staffs from Garner, Wake Forest Rolesville, Green Hope, South Johnston, Wakefield, Millbrook, Athens Dirve and so on. Those are all really good ball teams with outstanding pitching. He might not make it to UNC-W...His pro stock is going upward fast!!!
