    AL Baseball is about to start. South Rowan and Mooresville are playing this weekend. Heres my top 5 preseason picks.

    1. South Rowan
    2. Kannapolis
    3. Rowan County
    4. Concord
    5. E. Randolph

    Should be a great season! What do you think?

    Are you the same "Strikezone" from the old Charlotte.com message boards?

    Seems to me that you have Kannapolis ranked awful high, don't you? :boune:

    Once again Kannapolis should be loaded in legion ball this season.Ace Z. Ward is throwing the ball 94 MPH in college,and they have a lot of good arms behind him.

    One note of interest:Kannapolis will face Albany,GA on June 11 in Kannapolis.Albany usually wins the state in Georgia,and two years ago they placed 2nd in the legion world series.Should be a good game to catch.

    Kannapolis opens the season on May 24 at Cherryville.They are scheduled to play 26 regular season games.Should be fun following the Kannapolis program this season.

    Strikezone.....No way South Rowan will play this weekend since the high school starts the state playoffs next week.They will probably not have enough players to field a team until South Rowan is eliminated from the state playoffs.

    South intends to play with JV players until the varsity guys get there.

    What happened to Post 501 last year in the playoffs? They were a strong regular season team (17-3) but lost 4 straight games to Burlington!

    How is that same team going to get it done this year?

    501 has nearly everyone returning again. They lost Waller, Gurly and Petty.
    Ward and Harris will be returning from college and Fink.

    I don't know how Kannapolis will do statewide in legion ball this summer but I figure they should do well.

    But Mr.Strikezone, since you have South Rowan ranked higher than Kannapolis, can I ask you how did South Rowan do against Kannapolis this spring in HS ball? ...0-2, I believe... :D :D :D

    Anyway, we all know that anything can happen in baseball. But personally, I think the current Kannapolis boys, with the addition of the Northwest Cabarrus boys, with the return of Zach Ward/Matt Harris from college,,,, I think this team will do pretty fair this summer. Yep, they may not win it all, but I'll take this bunch against anyone...
