    Thursday's Attempted Game:

Interupted going into the bottom of the 2nd by the rain.

Score: North Meck 3, Independence 1

They are going to try again tomorrow night..... If they can't get it in, North Meck gets the #3 seed by virture of beating Central Cabarrus during the regular season. If they do get it in, the winner gets the #2 seed, bumping Hopewell to #3.

    Geez!!!!!!!

Two more players who look very good....

    McMahon, Catcher, Independence

Young kid, great low target, blocks extremely well, strong arm, frames very well. Even opposing pitchers admire his work behind the plate. He will be a senior next season.

    Rocket, Pitcher, Independence

Another young righty. Has lots of promise, good mentality and make-up on the mound. Will provide a great 1-2 punch next season with Zac Farry.

Independence is set for next season on the hill and behind the plate. They are loosing some, but return most of their team. Look for them to improve and be a serious threat next season. They also have a strong JV program.

    2004 Hopewell Outlook

Hopewell will still continue to be one of the class teams in the conference next season. They have a lot of key players returning and will present a challenge to all the teams in the conference.

    Pitching
Jaryd Keese, Ryan Stage and Walt Himes will probably get the majority of innings. They will be well set with these 3 seniors on the hill.

    Catching
Dan Woodall will return for a final season. During the past year, he was already the best hitting catcher in the conference, and will only get stronger.

    Infield
Ben Beard at short and Walt Himes at third will provide a strong left side of the infield with lots of power in their bats. The right side will probably come up from the JV team.

    Outfield
With the starting outfield graduating, newcomer Steve Laco, rising junior will anchor center field. We will be one of the fastest players in the conference also.

    Outlook:
Once again, Hopewell will be a handful for any team and should contend for the championship.
