Square4life- I love your enthusiasm and support for the MP Greenies. I wish more people would come on showing their support for their school.

What your team has accomplished and how your fans enthusiastically cheer has been admired by many schools in your conference.

McLaurin will pitch for FV. He brings the heat, but the Rose players will also see a nasty slider which can't be hit when he's got it going. This one could go either way, but defense and pitching wins championships and thats why I like FV. Also, I'm sure Mike Flye will start, but if he can't go the whole way who do they have in reserve after Hodges pitched 7 last night. I'm sure they have some quality arms, but McLaurin has had off since last Friday and Price hasn't even pitched in the playoffs. Don't under estimate FV offense, home field advantage, senior leadership. These guys know how to get it done. Just think the seniors have been to the state championship 2 of the past 3 years and could go 3 of 4. As freshman 3A state finals and last year 4A state champs. I think their determination and heart will carry them to another. Rose has quietly put together a great season 23-1 is outstanding and you can bet rose will bring their "A" game. This is definetley the game to be at, #1 vs #2, a trip to the state championship on the line. Game of the year!!! I'm there. Who else is in?? If not you don't know what your missing.

 

Oh, and thats 3 guys at 90+, Price has been clocked 91 a few times this year.

If Flye does not go the distance, Rose could come back with Byrum (pitched a 2 hitter at Havelock - no walks) or Forbes (better than most high school starting pitchers).

I guess it is possible Hodges could work (3 days rest) but doubtful.

 

I think the game depends on how each offense responds. If Rose can put together a string of hits (don't have to be homers) and show they can hit McLaurin then they will be in from start to finish. Where it may get out of hand is if FV's offense gets to Flye early and even pushes him out. With the small park Fuquay, who is not a powerful HR team can look it at times. Also the coaching matchup is great; 2 coaches who have reached milestones this year. The story lines for this came are endless. I just hope it lives up to the hype. I'm sure it will. Game is Saturday @ 7.
