ihigh.com with the support of the NCHSAA will name MS SOFTBALL in north carolina for the first time ever! If you had one vote in this matter, who would you nominate and what are some stats on this individual?

I don't know the stats, but from the teams I have seen this year, the catcher from Forestview stands out from the rest. Maybe someone can give her name, I can't remember, but I believe in another post they stated she tied the state record for homeruns with 9. She was the complete package both defensively and offensively. There will probably be a lot of pitchers mentioned, but this young lady is tough. I don't know if she's a jr or sr. Maybe someone can give that also. Her team may not have won everything, but I haven't seen too many players that can play to her level.

    Brea Cheney - Catcher Forestview
    483 Avg.
    23 Runs Scored
    31 RBI's
9 Home Runs (ties single season state record)
    11 Stolen Bases
Defensively picked of 6 runners at 1B, 17 assists, 4 throwing errors.

These are some of Brea's HS stats. I don't have the complete list but these are impressive numbers and she is only a Junior. Big South pitchers will have to deal with her for one more year.
