High School softball is over for this year. What a great year for our HS players. Now it's time to take a look at our summer ball teams. Who do you think will be the top teams in North and South Carolina this year.

    Hey, Cometfan
It's too early right now to see which teams will be the top in NC and SC, there are a bunch of new teams I went to the Salisbury tournament last week (June 7,8) and there wern't any 18U playing but there was 2 new 16U teams playing the CRUSHERS and CHAOS. The Crushers were undefeated until one game when i guess and umpire made a bad call and cost them a one run loss. Then they came back and won the tournament. I didn't get to see them play at all but I saw both new teams. the CRUSHERS are red, white, and black, and some of the parents I talked to said that the schools they are from are Hopewell, Central C, Mooresville, and a couple from North Iredell? The Chaos were from the Charlotte area, they are silver, white, and black, they are real bad sportsmans, I didn't talk to them. But I don't know that's the only tournament I have went to. So it's really hard to say who will be on top.

    c'mon now....
that tournament was specifically called an NSA **B Class** in Salisbury that weekend .... nothing against the teams/players, but we shouldn't tout that as some of NC's best teams to watch this summer

NSA had their Super NIT that same weekend in Cary.

the NC NSA site keeps good tabs on the results and events, as almost everyone surely knows by now

also, a comment on another discussion about best leagues...I won't dispute ASA for 18u, but for 8u-16u I think you have more of an opportunity for larger and more competitive tournaments with NSA as far as NC is concerned. NC's USSSA and AAU I'd say are average for those age groups, but some regular ol' ASA 8u-16u tournaments??? I wish I could find them, but in Western NC area I rarely see one make...even though have tried to play them before.

In 18u, there is a pretty tough combination of teams playing in one of the brackets in Rock Hill, SC this weekend.
Cardinals, Challengers, Crushers, Double Diamonds, Lady Blues, and Wildcats.
    Wildcats beat the Challengers 7-2
Cardinals and the Lady Blues tied 0-0
Double Diamonds beat the Challengers 2-0
Wildcats beat the Lady Blues 1-0
Wildcats beat the Double Diamonds (not sure of the score)
Lady Blues beat the Challengers 4-0
    Cardinals beat the Crushers (4-0??)

It is a round robin, and I am pretty sure that is all the games from today, the rest will be played tomorrow... but def. some of the top NC 18u.

Did the Double Diamonds and the Cardinals play today? I heard they played the Cardinals and lost 4 to 3. Two runs scored on a DD error. I may have misunderstood. It could have been the Wildcats.

The 18u Magic defeated the Carolina Chaos of Myrtle Beach SC for the championship in this World Series National Qualifier held in Charlotte.

I believe you are correct that the two teams played, but I believe the Cardinals won 4-3 or 4-2.

I guess it is a little early. I haven't had a chance to see many SC teams yet. In NC based on seeing alot of High School softball and knowing where their players are playing this summer I will go out on a limb and say that the Wildcats, Cardinals, Lady Blues and NC Challengers will be among the top teams this summer. (These are 18u teams but many of them have much yonger players.) The NSA World Series is just over a month away. It will be interesting to see how the NC & SC teams do.
