NSA, ASA, USSA, USFA, A this A that, which league do you like best and why. Which one seems to offer the most competion and is there one more credible than others with college coaches.

    ASA.............

Is the best and the governing body of Softball, while the others, here in NC have more members, the toughest competition is in ASA. The quality of teams, umpires and the overall organization is heads above the rest. USFA is up-and-coming, well-organized, quality teams are joining and you get your monies worth with 2 pool play games Plus a Double Elimination Tournament!! Go to www.playusfa.org and check out all the tournaments and who have entered them. Note: the USFA State Tournament is this weekend in Raleigh @ Walnut Creek for all age groups and alot of programs will be there, not to mention alot of college coaches.

CFBall, I agree that the benchmark for everybody is to compare ASA with everybody else. I don't know if I totally agree with that but there are some great tournaments that ASA puts on and where a lot of college coaches attend but not enough. You have to have your name in the pot by Oct-Dec of the previous year to play the next summer. I haven't played as much USFA as I have NSA but I do think the umpiring is about equal. The rule on EP that USFA has in place I do like. They encourage you to play more of your players but if somebody gets hurt they don't punish you by making you take an out in the middle of your lineup if you do not have a sub to replace. NSA encourage's you to play more but you had better hope and pray that nobody gets hurt or you will have to take an out. That is the biggest difference in those two assocations that I see and if you are trying to play most of your players so you can get a look at what you have this year then USFA is the safest route to go.

    HSFAN...................

with that ASA Schedule, its proof enough which sancation has the best competition, exposure, umpires, organization and the most money! Think that developing talent in any association has its benefits and we prefer being sancationed by most for numerous/obivious reasons! But there are alot of great ball in USFA, NSA, PONY, AFA and over the years we have enjoyed each!

14u and 18u teams are in the NC State USFA tournament at walnut creek and several other venues in Raleigh this weekend!

Good luck this year and as you stated its Year Round with Softball whichever end(s) you are providing!

Proud of other Special Freshmen this year........go all-stater!
    and other ;)

    ASA -vs- other organizations

Although ASA was the originating body for Fastpitch softball, to say that they have the best tournaments, umpires, etc. is a stretch. I am sanctioned ASA in SC. I am associated with numerous organizations as an on-the-field umpire and as a UIC, and as for the ASA umpires in NC, there are only a handful of QUALITY officials. And usually, these officials are multi-sanctioned. You will find your better officials at the "College-Showcase" tournaments. Most of these people are Division 1 or 2 umpires. The ASA tournament in Lexington, SC June 19 - 22 will have some of the better officials, as will the NSA tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia July 3 - 6. If every organization will remember what their goal should be, ie., concentrate on what's really important, that is, give these young ladies the best possible enviroment to showcase there talents and a little less on the money that is generated by these tournaments, it would be better for all. Good luck to all the young ladies that play this sport, and I know I will be seeing at lot of you at the college level.

AAU is questionable. Bad decisions made on crowning state champions in a couple of age groups.
